Sarah Jenkins – Keeping Your Head Straight When Trading

Sarah Jenkins heads up our trading psychology lessons here at Marketwise Skills. She's the person who makes sure you're not just looking at charts but also understanding what's going on inside your own head. Trading can be a bit of a rollercoaster, especially for folks starting out. Sarah helps you stay calm and make smart choices, even when things get tough.

She didn't start in psychology. Sarah got into trading years ago, right after finishing university in Nottingham. She quickly learned that knowing the market wasn't enough. Your own reactions – fear, greed, getting too excited – these were the real sticking points. After seeing many good traders fail because they couldn't control their emotions, she decided to focus on that side of things. It's about self-control as much as market knowledge.

Sarah's teaching is very hands-on. She believes in practical tools you can use every day, not just fancy theories. We talk a lot about common traps, like chasing losses or getting overconfident. She'll show you how to set up a routine that supports good decisions and how to spot when you're about to make a mistake based on feeling, not facts. It's about building a robust mindset.

Students often come to her feeling frustrated by past trading errors. Sarah helps them break down those habits. She works through things like managing expectations, dealing with losses without letting them snowball, and keeping a clear head when opportunities show up. It's a core part of learning to trade properly with us in Peterborough.

She often says that the market doesn't care about your feelings, but your feelings can certainly mess with your market decisions. Her goal is to give you the mental discipline required to stick to your plan. This helps you avoid those costly emotional slips that can undo all your hard work on the technical side. It's truly a vital part of learning real market skills.
